Ok, I have been reading several things about paypal changing and not being allowed to do some things.
I have not had to use paypal for a few weeks now, but will more than likely sometime.
So I just would like to know where the information people are reading about paypal is so I can understand exactly if there is anything I need to do.
Anyone who knows for sure would you please be kind enough to let me know?
Thanks James C

Hi James, the info is coming from emails from Slicethepie, updating members on the changes to Paypal payments.
I don't have those emails at hand, otherwise I'd copy/paste, but maybe someone else does.
The changes, as I understand them are that your slicethepie email account should match the email account associated with your Paypal account (in order to prevent fraud).
They are also stopping scouts from withdrawing Trading account money to their Paypal, (which previously could be done by moving trading account funds over to the Myslice account and then out to Paypal). Trading account funds can now only be withdrawn to a bank account.
Hope that clears things up. (assuming I've understood the changes correctly)

Thanks Mr X.
I have not had any e-mails from STP other than a newsletter and to tel me I have bought/sold contracts.
I fall under the group which uses a different e-mail for paypal and my slicethepie account.
I have now added the e-mail I sign in to slicethepie on my paypal, do you know if that is all that needs doing or do I need to click the little tick box and set it as the primary one when I withdraw from here?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that one. I've personally never used paypal. I'd recommend a quick email to Slicethepie with your query just to make sure. Might be worth asking them to put something up on the Slicethepie Update thread, given some members have not recieved the notifications.

Where did this come from? Is this a thing that will happen in the future? Did I miss something? Did this happen?
I really do hope you are wrong on this one since if I am not mistaken the money can only be withdrawn to UK bank accounts which would mean that money on trading accounts from people from other countries would be locked.
P.S.:if this is true it does explain the price drop

I will e-mail them tomorrow morning and hopefully they will explain everything.

An inconvenience? Well unless again I am missing something the money can't be transferred to Myslice account thus can't be directly re-invested, it must be withdrawn to a personal bank account. So you could only invest this money through credit card, now I know a cc might be a common thing in some countries but not all - a thing of different lifestyles, for example out of people my age that I know I am probably the only one that has a cc and I only got it because I am an ebay fanatic :).

You are missing something, it can be transferred wherever in the STP system just not taken out the system if raised by other methods Paypal for Scouting Bank for trading

My understanding is that you can move funds over from the Trading account to the Myslice and then reinvest them into a showcase artist....you just can't withdraw trading funds via Paypal from the Myslice account.

I recently tranfered money from my trading account to my cash account and there was no message about not being able to send it to paypal. I just did what I usually do and the money was sent to paypal(last week) as normal.

ok so I have gotten confirmation of this paypal change from STP, here is the e-mail for those who did not know about the change (like me)
From February 8th 2010 (today) we have made some important changes to the PayPal verification process.
The protection of our Users and the security of any related funds very seriously. With this in mind we are taking further steps to ensure the safety of Users funds relating to PayPal requests
when you withdraw funds via PayPal, your PayPal account must have the same email address as the email address tied into your Slicethepie account. If your PayPal email address does not match that registered on Slicethepie, then the funds have been automatically returned back to your MySlice account.
We appreciate this may cause a small amount of inconvenience, as you may be required to update your email address on either Slicethepie or PayPal . However we have to ensure that we take every precaution possible in an effort to combat the potential issue of fraud.
In order to update your registered Slicethepie email address, all you have to do is login, go to "<MySlice>", "Member profile", and click on the orange "Change email address" tab below.

Ok well that's fine.
It doesn't say anything about not being able to transfer your funds from the trading account to the cash account though, something I also did over the weekend (although not to transfer money out for once).
