So.....I went to the shop earlier, to my local newsagent (I hasten to add that I wasn't wearing pyjamas!) to my suprise there was a bunch of hirsute young men loitering in the corner of the shop, by the biscuits - what an almighty racket they were making! I was rather annoyed as I was unable to reach the chocolate hob nobs I had the munchies for.

I whipped out my phone to take a video of the abominable noise. As I left, having managed to reach the tea bags (but alas not the hob nobs) I asked the shop keeper what was going on; above the din he shouted "its The Perils, they came in and took over! But I don't mind, look at all the extra attention my little shop is getting"

And it's true, the shop was indeed very busy, not with shoppers but young folk enjoying the music. As a I squeezed out through the door I noticed more young people smiling and peering through the shop windows.

I posted my telephone video onto you tube - if you click here I think you should be able to see it: video

I called the local newspaper to complain and they told me that they would send a reporter down straight away, I think there will be story in tomorrows Evening Argus - Evening Argus

Cool idea...a great way to get some publicity.

When will we see the perils doing a UK TESCO tour?

Thanks!

Glad you like it! It was a bit hot and sweaty but it was a great laugh - lots of shoppers stopping to peer through the windows, the shop was rammed, everyone on their phones taking vids.

Gotta rush, we're playing Hamptons in Southampton tonight and I need to do my hair!

Cheers

Excellent guerrilla marketing. Really loved it. Have tweeted it Angel FFI

Is it true that after the show you were mobbed by a group of crispaholics who were annoyed that you were obstructing their path to the McCoys with your rocking sound?

LTP - it would be a pleasure to come and play in your local sweet shop, hell we'd come and play in your lounge if you wanted us to!!

The marauding hordes in search of McCoys were slightly disappointed - drummer Tom had sprayed them all with sweat! Yeergh!

I only watched the whole video just now and didn't realise how bad the sound was - Dannys voice sounds rubbish! Oh well there are plenty of other vids of us on you tube that sound better!

Try and get along to one of gigs - they are great fun! Our next one in Brighton is on the 26th Feb and we have Thomas White from Electric Soft Parade and Brakes playing with his new band Clowns: here as well as the lovely Valentines: here

Both outstanding bands and only £4.00 in!

It would be lovely to meet some of the STP crowd, come along, say hello and we'll dedicate a song or two to you!

See ya!

The other day I met a Drifter called Malcolm who said that he heard a Wispa about a band playing in a sweet shop and the lead singer was doing a Twirl in hiS nickers. However Mal teasers alot and I suspect he was Lion. The drummer's Mar says the Perils are the best band in the Galaxy, but she is Bounty say that isn't she?

Mal then said he would travel north with his friend Katherine. Once in Yorkie took Time Out to check his Kit, Kat on the other hand decided it was time to Breakaway to check out this guy playing M&M's new song. They met later for a Picnic in the park, with the Aero so clean and pure. After that they went to a Club and paid a Dime to hear some Minstrels play some real Gobstoppers.

Yes - way too much time - good luck with the Showcase guys. jim

What would I search for YouTube on my phone to find it?

Big Jim - you have waay too much time on your hands! Its funny but someone did a similar thing on The Perils facebook page - linked all the album tracks into a sentence.

Themselves - link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc091Ttn-cM

Or if you search Facebook for The Perils or Danny Peril or Jonny Peril you'll find the video.

No reply from LTP about playing in her lounge as yet!

Cheers

How about a tour of ICELAND, quite spacious and they sell booze. I recommend the Stoke Newington Branch.

Bah, ha, ha, ha, ha...
Right then....hang on a second.

(seconds later...I sweep back in - actually it's more of a canter, ok fine - I lope back in...dusting myself off, demurely.)

Whew!

I've just finished clearing all of the furniture out of the lounge, except for the rugs and soft furnishings, naturally, and I've stored them safely away in the cellar - with the 9" steel door and newly fitted locks...aaaaand self-contained ventilation units. Lovely.
Plenty of room for you fellas to go ahead and bring the full kit if you want, including any massive inflatables and/or incendiary devices required for peak performance.Sick

When the show's over I might need just a little bit of help with bringing those big ole heavy things back up in here before you go...if that's not an inconvenience of discernible magnitude for you fellas to handle.

Ok? What's good for you? How's your calendar lookin'?
Shall we set the dates for, erm...let's say....tsk...eh...
Feb 2010 - Oh, I don't know....your mid-30's?
blink, blink, blink...
Meh...
Drool

ah ha ah ha ah ha....oh, I kill me. Very funny.

Seriously. How are Y'all getting on down the Southcoast with radio airplay?
I think I can hook you up on that front.
PM me

The 'Coming to a Sweetie Shop Near You Tour' is a terrific one, though.
LMAO!
You would absolutely get some coverage on that if you went for it proper. If you do, however, you absolutely must play in my local sweetie shop...just give me enough time to organise the mobility car parking arrangements before the Flash Mob hits the high street.

Right...Y'all need to get proper busy touting up investors for the showcase.

Men! Go Ye forth and expose yourself!

Hi LTP

Wow! thanks for the comprehensive reply - it gives me an idea of what goes on in your head...or does it?

We don't need giant inflatables or incendiary devices - singer Dannys ego is inflated and explosive enough!! We're good around soft furnishings most of the time but drummer Tom does have a thing for rugs so you may want to move them into your strong room.

Where are you based? If near to any of our upcoming gigs we could pop round for a cup of tea and a little acoustic set?

South Coast radio play - ooh, yes please! We have had radio play on Juice 107.2 and Blast Radio so far this year but we'd always welcome more - I'll drop you a pm

See you around!
