Tommy singing with Paloma Faith and more..

Tommy is busy promoting Globe Jam and the events that she and Slicethepie financed Artist Sarah Grace are running. So we thought we'd find out what else she's up to....

Hi Tommy! We heard you've been performing with Paloma Faith! That's fab, how did that come about?

I work for a company called Sense of Sound doing session work and teaching and we were asked to be the choir for Paloma's performance of 'Fairytale of New York' with Roy from Scouting for Girls on Radio 1's Live Lounge with Jo Whiley. It was the week before Xmas and the first day it snowed so it all felt very festive! Paloma is brilliant too.

Any more plans to do things like this?

Yeah definitely! I love working with different musicians and especially enjoy doing backing vocals – nice harmonies are lovely! Sarah Grace and I have done a few different projects for this type of work and bring on more I say!

Looking back at 2009 were there any highlights? Going to Malawi must've been quite life changing?

Malawi was the highlight! It was such a great trip. Sarah and I met some great people – some we hope to go back and visit, some we'll work with again and some friends we'll keep in touch with here in London. It was a beautiful place to visit and we got so much from doing the singing workshops, which I think you can see in the blogs…wink wink – go watch them!

Do you plan to visit anywhere else with the Globe Jam? What has been your response to setting up Globe Jam?

We have had a great response! I think people respect the fact that we planned and funded the whole Malawi trip ourselves. We definitely plan to do more. We'd like to do a big trip a year and have loads more planned for Globe Jam.

This year you will see the Globe Jam Choir at some of our gigs – we hope to set this up to keep working with groups of anyone who enjoys singing but also to raise money for those we worked with in Malawi. Also under the Globe Jam umbrella we plan to go into businesses to run team building singing workshops as a fun way to get employees working together. So if you are either interested in joining the choir or having me and Sarah come to your office email us at globejam@myspace.com.

Anything else we should know about? Or anything else you want to say!?

Well, I have started writing the second album so I hope to record that later this year. At the moment I am just really enjoying doing some varied work within music and it is great to be able to travel while doing this as well. I would love to see more of the world and just keep expanding really! More music and more money.

When can we see you perform next?

February 2nd at The Bedford!

Sarah Grace will be performing too as it's a special Globe Jam night... come on down! (oh and it's FREE!)
